The Pilates technique is a system of body conditioning that improves flexibility, core strength, stamina, co-ordination, balance, breathing and posture. This Pilates course focuses on strengthening and stretching specific muscles in order to develop and maintain a healthy back. You will learn how to safely perform controlled, mat based exercises using modifications to enable you to work at the correct level. Most exercises are mat based so you must be able to get down on to the floor and up again unaided.
You will need a sufficient understanding of spoken English to follow verbal instructions and to exercise safely. This is a group exercise course and is not suitable for anyone needing 1:1 tuition for a medical problem.
